Indiana Jones in Real Life
Client: Improv Everywhere
Role: design / fabrication

I designed and built a large boulder costume for an Indiana Jones inspired chase scene through the winding paths of Central Park. This project was part of a video prank series “Movies in Real Life” organized by the Improv Everywhere collective.
After considering making a remote controlled boulder or one attached to Indiana Jones with ropes, I decided to make a large costume. This design ensured maximum mobility and safety in densely populated areas and adds to the comedic nature of the video.
The boulder has a wooden inner structure and a painted foam exterior. The boulder was rigged with hidden cameras which provided a live-feed on a screen inside the costume. This made it easier for the stuntman to operate the boulder while simultaneously recording footage for the final video.
